Happy Fourth!

Hoping everyone has had a very happy Fourth of July!

We had a pretty great day here in the beautiful town of King's Mountain, NC.  My husband (and sometimes co-author) Marty and I got up early and enjoyed a church service together on the Sabbath. We cooked out (well, HE cooked, I ate) and napped a bit of the afternoon away.  Saturday is the only day of the week when we get to spend any time together as he works the other six days of the week.  Then it was down to a little business - the business of writing.

My husband and I are both authors.  In fact, our relationship started out as a business arrangement.  He was writing, I was editing and publishing his work.  Everything else grew out of that, and we wouldn't have changed a thing.

Marriage and the Sabbath - two things that God instituted right at Creation.  They are both all about love relationships; with each other and with our Creator.  Curiously enough they are both things that are becoming less and less important to the world. We're All Haunted

I began writing Cast Down; A New England Haunting several years ago, but the story itself has haunted me personally for most of my life. The tale is a fictional one but it's based in reality and in memory of a time long in my past. I recently told an old and dear friend, "Dude, I not only live in a trailer park, I work in them. I do evictions. Tell me I am not living the most entertaining life ever ." There are still days when I'm looking around this new little reality of mine and thinking, How did I get here ? Those are the days when I'm quite sure God has a wicked sense of humor. The company now owns fifteen mobile home parks, so that's roughly 375 homes to manage. I've been in each and every one of these homes over the last five years. I've cleaned them, inspected them, painted them, photographed them. If anyone has a question about a home, I have an answer; Yes, that's the one that had the toilet that got clogged and the tenant continued to use it for two weeks without being able to flush before calling us; that's the one the tenant painted the interior florescent orange and we had to use six gallons of Kilz to cover it; that's the one where the old lady died sitt
